REBECCA “BEXX” FRANCOIS
SpeakerRebecca “Bexx” Francois is a Producer and Videographer from New York, born to two immigrant Haitian parents. What originally started as a plan to attend law school, unexpectedly changed to a career in journalism. After landing opportunities working with GlobalGrind, Ology and Viacom’s now defunct CentricTV brand, Bexx found herself naturally graduating into a space of digital production. Tasked with the responsibility of interviewing, capturing and editing content for CentricTV across the US introduced Bexx to a new language of engagement and entertainment - video. In search of more, Bexx soon found herself at NY legacy radio stations HOT97 and WBLS. There she matured her capacity for ideating and supporting narrative concepts into fruition. During her tenure at Hot97, Bexx was also granted the opportunity to Executive Produce her first digital show - ‘Hot97 This Week.’ With such invaluable experience, Bexx was fortunate enough to transition into a managerial role for VICELAND TV, started her freelancing career capturing original content, and eventually accepted a role as Video Producer on Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. Bexx hopes to eventually join the ranks of Black Hollywood - telling and capturing black stories in the ways they should be told: fearlessly, vulnerably and beautifully. One thing Bexx hopes the the family of BlackGirlPod can take with them, is to “grow through what you go through. Life is beautiful if you let it be.”

After the five media phenoms met and became friends at hip hop's most iconic station, Hot 97, they decided to make their hilarious conversations about life issues, sisterhood, pop culture, love, growth, and the pursuit of their dreams to the public. Listen every week as their differing opinions and life experiences lead them to understand themselves, and the world around them, a little bit better. Hopefully, you'll laugh, argue, and learn something about yourselves, too.
